How it works
A floor where exporters, buyers and forwarders say what they have, what they need and what went wrong, each in their own language, each read by everybody else in theirs. Matched by what was said. Anonymous until both sides agree otherwise. Here is the order a person lives it in.
The whole thing, in six moves
Anonymous until the last one
- 1
Say it
What you have or need, your own language
- 2
Everyone reads it
Translated both ways, original kept
- 3
Matched
To the other side of that trade
- 4
Checked
Register, shipments, sanctions — before hello
- 5
Talk
A room for that one trade. Still no names
- 6
Shake hands
Both press it, and the names open
Five of those six happen without anybody learning who you are. The sixth takes both of you, and either side can walk away from it having given up nothing.
What it is worth
The money is in the things nobody tells you
Not a discount we invented. These are published rates on the Türkiye–UK lane, and the gap between the one you are quoted and the one you are entitled to is the whole margin on a lot of trades.
Duty you need not pay
£12,000
on a £100,000 order of cotton t-shirts, knitted — 12% standard against 0% under the UK–Türkiye preference. Claim it on the paperwork or pay it.
And the one that bites
0% → 25%
Steel concrete reinforcing bar is free inside the safeguard quota and 25% the moment it closes. Same goods, same supplier, same week.
Where else it is hiding
- Cotton T-shirts, knitted12% → 0%
- Cotton terry towels12% → 0%
- Cotton sweaters and pullovers, knitted12% → 0%
- Men's cotton trousers, woven12% → 0%
One post, three sides
Exporters, buyers and freight see the same shout, each in their own language. No list to work through.
Checked before hello
The register, the shipment history and the sanctions screen are run before you have spent an hour on somebody.
Your number stays yours
Nobody can ring you because they found you here. That only changes when you both decide it does.
Rates are indicative and get re-checked against the live UK tariff when you run a real shipment. Preferences that are quota-limited are deliberately left out of the figures above.
Said · Checked · Traded
Why anyone should believe you
Everyone on a trading site says they are reliable. Here it is a number, and it is made of three different kinds of evidence — what you said, what we checked, and what you actually did. The first one you fill in yourself. The last one you cannot.
- +30%0→30
Say who you are
Which side you are on, where you trade from, what you make or need. Your own words, your own language.
- +20%30→50
Film yourself
Forty seconds, in your own language. It moves the meter more than anything else you can do on your own — a face is harder to fake than a paragraph.
- +20%50→70
Give your registration number
Nobody else sees it until you shake hands. It is what lets us check you against the register.
- +30%70→100
The rest of your record
Minimum and lead time, certificates, markets, what you want Mago to watch for. Buyers ask for most of this in the first two messages anyway.
Past the end of the bar
We check the company against its register and the certificates with whoever issued them. This one is not a percentage and you cannot type it in — either it checks out or it does not.
A handshake, and then a deal that actually happened. Aykut’s rule, and the right one: a profile you can complete by typing is a profile anybody can complete. Only the other side of a trade can give you this.
Three sides, and where each one stands
Makers and exporters. Say what you have and why it is good: combed twice, sun-dried on the roof, cut with the grain. A claim somebody can test is the only kind worth posting.
See the squareImporters and brands. Say what you need, how much, how soon, and where it is going. The suppliers who can do it answer you, and you gave nobody your number to find out.
See the boardForwarders, on a floor of their own. Post spare space with the vessel, the date and the terms, and take sealed bids. Forwarders bid on freight and freight is asked for, so they never write into a room of buyers who came to talk about goods.
See freightUnderneath, the boring half
Every post resolves to a tariff code, and once there is a code the rest follows. These tools are free, need no account, and every figure says where it came from.
- Ask the deskDescribe a shipment in plain words and get the tariff code, the duty, the documents and what stops it at the border.
- Work out a shipmentLanded cost line by line, and the same goods into a second market beside it.
- Duty by commodityThe code, the duty into each market and the documents before it sails, for every commodity we hold.
- Your laneOne route, one commodity, as a document you can forward.
- The route todayChokepoints, port congestion, exchange rates and the trade press, with sources.
What we will not pretend
The floor is nearly empty. There are no member numbers anywhere on this site because there are none worth printing yet. What exists is the mechanism, working end to end, and the first months are free while we open.
Nobody can tell a real certificate from a photograph of one. We read what it says, then check those facts with whoever issued it. A profile shows which certificates we checked, against which are merely claimed.
We are not your broker, and this is not legal advice. Duty rates and fees are indicative, from published schedules. A report tells you what a shipment needs and what it should cost, so the conversation with the people who file it starts in the right place.
Nothing here is ranked by who paid. Some platforms sell the top slot in a city. We do not, and we will not.
